End of the School Year festival at Joan Sanpera i Torras

On Friday 19^th of June we had our end of the school year dance festival. The dances were from Poland, England, Iceland, Hungary and Catalonia to celebrate the end of our Comenius project WOW. We thank our partner schools for all their help.

At the end of the festival we had a graduation ceremony for our Year 6 students.

On our  display you can see the the evolution of our  project. A collection of pictures of all the meetings, a collection of objects from all the countries and some of the project work done by the students.

Comenius WOW Quiz

Joan Sanpera i Torras is having a whole school Comenius Quiz. The Quiz consists of 16 multiple choice questions about the project .There will be a group price for the lower levels and individual prices for the upper levels.

International roller hockey player Xavier Basrroso visits Joan Sanpera i Torras

On the 5th and 6^th of June the 21 years old international FC Barcelona roller hockey player Xavier Barroso visited our school.

Xavier Barroso has won the World championship, European Championship and the 2013-14 league.

He worked with the Year 4 and Year 6 groups and told them the main characteristics of roller hockey. He also showed them some of the sports clothes and materials needed to play this sport.

After asking him some very interesting questions the students practiced the basic techniques of hockey.

At the end of the session Xavier Barroso signed lots of autographs and all the class groups had a picture taken with him.

Comenius Day

5^th June we celebrated in our school Comenius Day. Class Vc prepared a short artistic program remembered the most important information of our partners and tasks connected with our project Wide Open Window. The famous people from the partners’ countries such as Queen Elizabeth II, James Bond, Antoni Gaudi, Erno Rubik, William Shakespeare and Björk appeared on the scene. We could also see our students dancing English waltz and singing the song of Shakira. At the end all our students with partners flags sang the song 'The Waving Flag'. Leaving the room, the students had the opportunity to try dishes from our partners.
